  4. Food & Nutrition: Beneficial Bugs: Kombucha, Kimchi, Kefir and other Cultured Foods -- Registration Required

    Adults interested in learning more about how foods affect our bodies in different ways are invited to attend Eating Well for Healthy Living Series at Westchester Public Library. Registered Dietetic Technician Gia DeMartinis will lead the program focused on the benefits of cultured foods. Cultured foods containing probiotics, or healthy bacteria, are in a class of foods known as functional foods because they provide benefits beyond merely their nutrient content. Come learn about these and other cultured or fermented foods and why they are so important in your diet.

    Westchester Township History Museum will be hosting Spy Trivia Night on Tuesday, April 25 from 7 - 8:30 p.m. This month's Trivia Night will concentrate on the pop culture portrayal and real-life events of spies. From Get Smart and James Bond to the U-2 incident and code-breaking, all of the questions will revolve around spies and their lifestyles. Teams of 1-4 people can vie for the prize. Refreshments will be served.

    The Westchester Public Library invites the public to attend free screening and discussion of the PBS FRONTLINE documentary “Being Mortal” on Thursday, April 27 at the Baugher Center. Based on the best­selling book by Dr. Atul Gawande, this film explores the hopes of patients and families facing terminal illness and their relationships with the doctors, nurses and family members who care for them.
