Welcome to Chesterton

The hustling, bustling, vibrant town we know and love began in 1852, with the arrival to Northern Indiana of the Lake Shore and Michigan Railroad Line. The proximity to easy transportation helped industry in the town to grow. After seventeen years, the town became incorporated with the name we know today: Chesterton, Indiana.

New in Chesterton

Meet Alexandra Sexton- The 2010 Summer Intern

This summer, the Town of Chesterton has asked me to work on two different projects. The first is creating a "Go Green Chesterton" website that will be linked to the Town's official website. The site I am constructing is meant to spark Chesterton residents' interests' in the green movement. It's unique in the sense that it specifically lists green opportunities for Chesterton residents, such as where to recycle items that aren't normally accepted for curb-side recycling. I am using research gathered both on my own and from this year's Future of Chesterton presentations.
